In order to contain the spread of COVID-19, students should stay home and minimize social contact as much as possible. As we take these precautionary next steps, teachers will still be providing options for how families can support student learning during this time. No later than Tuesday afternoon, this page will provide what that will look like per teacher.
Will there be non-online options?
Yes. If distance learning using online resources is not an available option, packets of work specific to each teacher will be available for pick up Thursday, March 19th at 10:00 a.m.-12 p.m. on the High School side of the campus. We have made adjustments to date and time of pick up to reflect the new shelter in place order.
Ms. Miles: Audrey: Hi Transitional Kindergarten parents! I hope all is well. I have created packets that will help students remain focused and engaged during the school closure. I have provided a daily schedule for assignments but please set up a daily schedule that best fits your needs. There are two online programs that I have provided information for in your packet: iReady, and Starfall.com. As well, via email I have provided two links that provide some engaging science activities and fun academic activities for students. Please feel free to contact me by email if you have any questions. Much Love, Be safe Ms. Miles firstname.lastname@example.org Mr. Pippen: I have prepared books and work packets with instructions, which are available for pickup in the Anna Yates office. I can also send materials via shared google docs or email. There are many ways for your child to remain active academically. Read through the packet thoroughly. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. Read to your child everyday. If available, you can access online lessons through the iReady application on your tablet, computer, or smartphone. I will send more information via Class Dojo and email. Please contact me with your questions. Best, Mr. Pippen Mrs. Pappas: I will be sending work packets, resources and iReady login information through Class Dojo by Monday, the 16th. Physical packets are available in the Anna Yates office and include daily practice for math and writing as well as expectations for daily reading and sight word practice. Please save all work to be returned when we return to school. A list of academic websites and video links will also be posted to Class Dojo. I will also use Class Dojo to coordinate with you, if you are interested in setting up virtual tutoring and/or reading sessions with me for your child (Facetime, Google Hangouts, Zoom Conferencing…) Please contact me through Class Dojo or at email@example.com with any questions.
Ms. Goldberg: Hi parents and families, there are two main ways your kindergarten student can remain engaged with schoolwork while our school is closed. 1: you can pick up a work packet in the Anna Yates office starting Tuesday (please be prepared to turn the packet in when school resumes). 2: your child can continue with their iReady math and reading lessons online using Clever. I will send your child’s QR code to you today via email and Class Dojo, with instructions on how to log in; I will also send some other ideas and ways that your child can engage with school work online. Please let me know if you have any questions - you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or message me on Class Dojo. Stay healthy and I look forward to seeing you all soon!
Ms. Phan: Hi parents and families! Work packets and iReady login information are available to be picked up in the Anna Yates office. Packets include daily reading, writing, grammar, and math practice. Please continue practicing sight words. I will be sending updates and additional online resources via ClassDojo. Please save all work to be returned to me when we come back to school. Please contact me T. TClassDojo or at email@example.com if you have any questions and concerns. Stay safe and healthy and I look forward to seeing everyone soon!
Mrs. Knight: Hi to all my parents and families! I have provided packets that include reading, phonics, writing, grammar, math and book reports. Please continue working on sight words and when we get back I will have the gift cards ready for all those who know the whole list ;) Included in this packet are the login and passwords for iReady, Raz Kids and Prodigy. The work packets are in no particular order so students can choose how to complete the packet. Please return work when school resumes. More information about virtual tutoring will be coming through Class Dojo and you can also get in touch through email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ms. Chloe: Hello, 1st grade families! In addition to the paper packets (providing 3 weeks of work) given out last week, starting Monday 3/23 I will be hosting online small group instruction. I have posted student groups and times to class dojo. If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me via dojo or email: email@example.com
Ms. Pires: Ideally you all (both 2nd grade classes) will be able to go to the school this next week and pick up the reading/math packet in the office. Please try to read 2-3 stories each week and complete the follow up activities. Try to complete 2-3 math pages per day (5 days per week). In addition, I am asking students to log on to Clever and complete 20 minutes each day of iReading Reading and Math lessons. Also, I have loaded a lot of phonics/vocabulary games on the National Geographic website. As a new way to practice reading at your child’s level I have added each student (in my class only at this time) to Raz-Kids where they will read and respond to stories at their level. Also, if children want more practice they can continue to read and respond on books they may have at home using the Accelerated Reading site (not all books are found in there but many are). For math, we are currently in module 6 (multiplication) and students can continue working on lessons at their own pace using Zearn. Instructions as to how to log on to Clever are explained on the front cover of the 2nd grade packet. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or Remind (Mspires2n) at Anna Yates School. I hope to see you soon.
Ms. Williams/Mrs. Wren: Packets are in the office. The cover sheet explains online options through Clever.
Teacher Gilbert: Dear Families: All students must read daily. After surveying families, 50% of families responded and all wanted paper packets. I am available to provide work through Google classroom by request. The paper packets include reading, writing and math work that meet Common Core Standards. In addition to the packet, I recommend 20 minutes of iReady math and 20 minutes of iReady reading each day if you have access to online resources. I am available by email (email@example.com) or through our class’s Remind messaging group. Feel free to contact me for any assistance with the academic work. Other suggestions for well being: create a daily schedule/routine for your child during this time. Keep school time bedtimes, ensure there is daily exercise. I know each family has their own, individual plan to stay healthy and safe during this time. Ms. Fessehaie: Hello Parents, I have prepared reading, writing, and math work packets that will be available for pickup in the Anna Yates office. Students should read about 3 stories per day and do the related activities. Students should aim to complete about 3-4 math pages per day. The daily online reading and math assignments can be accessed by logging on to clever. In addition, students should do 20 minutes of iReady reading and math lessons online independently for extra practice at their level. Zearn math will also give students an opportunity to practice more math problems at their level independently. I have included plenty of scratch paper in their packets so they can show their work. Most importantly, I expect students to read for at least 20 minutes per day, and then complete their weekly reading logs. Book diary completion is optional. Practicing their keyboarding skills by going on typing.com for 10 minutes per day is recommended. In case students forgot how to log on to clever, I have included login instructions, which can be found on page 1 of the packet. I will repeat these instructions on Remind. Finally, please sign up for the best days/times that will work for you to conference with me in the front office. I will send more messages via Remind. Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions. Thank you for your patience and support. Best wishes for good health for you and your loved ones, Ms. Fessehaie
Ms. Johnson: Hello 4th Grade Family, At this time we are going to have class remotely. Knowing that this unfortunate situation was a possibility, I prepared students on Thursday by explaining what our class would look like if we moved into a remote classroom situation. Please visit our class website to view our daily agenda. To ensure that your scholar does not fall behind in her or his studies, please continue encouraging them to use their independent study time wisely. Please take care and stay well. Hope to see you soon, Ms. Johnson

Virtual teaching will continue daily from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm using Zoom. If you still need a device from the school please fill out this device form so your child can participate. All work is due daily in order to keep our students on track to be middle school ready. Please contact me via class dojo or by email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions. Ms. Fenimore: While school is not in session, I have put together resources to support students in continuing their academic growth during our closure.
