Family Hour of Code Event

Please join us for our Family Hour of Code event on 12/6/18 at 6pm in the cafeteria. Hour of Code is a one-hour coding challenge to give students a fun first introduction to computer science. This year, we're inviting the whole family to join! Hour of Code offers hundreds of one-hour activities in over 48 languages for Kindergarten to 12th grade, and no prior experience is required! Dinner will be provided, and we are raffling off some amazing prizes! RSVP at bit.ly/emeryhourofcode. We hope to see you there!

1:1 Initiative

In 2017-2018, Anna Yates rolled out a 1:1 technology program, or one device per student. The initiative spans grades TK-8, with grades TK-1 being issued iPads, and grades 2-8 being issued laptops. These devices will remain in the classrooms for student use the entire academic year and will not go home with students at this time.

After reading and reviewing the Acceptable Use Agreement with your child, please sign and return to your child’s teacher. For additional parent resources on digital citizenship, we recommend visiting Common Sense Media.  If you have additional questions, please reach out to the Tech Department at emeryusdtech@emeryusd.org

SWAT Team

Picture
SWAT stands for Students Working to Advance Technology, and that's exactly what they do! Comprised of 4th-8th graders, these students are the first line of defense when tech issues arise at Anna Yates. They have been trained by the district's IT department, and can handle almost any troubleshooting issue thrown their way.

Are you a 4th-8th grade student interested in joining our team? We are accepting applications for the 2018-2019 school year. Please see Mrs. Yeager for an application. *Must be available one Thursday per month @ 3:30-4:30pm. Parent & Teacher approval required.
