My students become co-creators of classroom norms and expectations so that they have a full understanding of what is expected of them and can take ownership and accountability for their behavior and academics.
I see my students as a whole individual and deeply believe in the importance of academic and social/emotional learning. Children need to feel safe and valued in order to become vulnerable enough to learn and make mistakes. My goal is to create a classroom community where each of my students understands their value and importance and can take risks and excel in their academics.
I am looking forward to building a classroom community where students look forward to coming to school and can get excited about their learning. I am also looking forward to creating partnerships with families so we can work together to increase the educational success of each student.
